It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you the women who have brought their wisdom and love to Loonsong in and continue to grace this place annually. I cannot recommend their offerings highly enough.
Being attentive to one’s own well-being was a concept I learned early in my life when my mother became conscious of the relationship with food and the body’s health. I began to grow my own organic food when I was 19 and have never been without the gift of abundant health.
In 1995, Kathi completed training in Massage Therapy and has since studied energy modalities, including Nia, a Body, Mind, Spirit fitness and lifestyle practice which addresses the whole being. I have been teaching Nia for 10 years in New Glasgow, Antigonish and now Guysborough County and know that bringing the Joy of movement to people is the most valuable work that I do.
Kathi has worked in several co-operatives with women and has experienced first-hand the healing power of women coming together with love and intention. It has always been a dream to provide a place and the support for women, all people, who choose to step onto the path of caring for self, others and community. Loonsong represents this long held desire with the mandate to provide programming and sacred space for groups or individuals that supports and empowers people on their personal journey of discovery.
Kathy combines her skills and expertise as a Life Coach, Spiritual Guide, Wholebody Focusing Trainer and Adult Educator to create experiences that support and strengthen the inner life of your heart and soul. Kathy has been offering contemplative leadership of retreats for many years and she loves to draw upon the healing power of nature to awaken, enliven and strengthen the soul.
Kathy worked for many years in corporate training, offering team building experiences and delivering workshops. She also worked as an instructor at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, where she taught courses on personal development.
Her desire to life a more sustainable life brought her to Nova Scotia, where she began working with individuals and providing retreat leadership on personal and spiritual deepening. Kathy uses her skills in spiritual accompaniment, coaching, and facilitating to help others listen to the voice of their own inner wisdom. She helps others find their way to living more in harmony with their deepest values and to honour their inner wisdom. The greatest teacher any of us has lives within us and Kathy helps people connect and act upon their inner wisdom.
Kathy is currently living in Saint John, NB. She lives there with her husband and she can often be found walking the local beaches and nature trails gathering inspiration for her life and work. She has had her mandala artwork published in Presence magazine and is currently working on a number of writing projects.
