Guest Access

Nature, quiet, lack of interruption, time for naps and walks and simply being. There is a studio space for yoga, dancing or art. Country Harbour River has boating access close by in Salsman Provincial Park which is open from about mid-June to early September for all things water related including  swimming, listening to the loons sing and sitting on the beach with your own sweet thoughts. Camping is available at the park as well as in the yard surrounding the cottage.

Interaction with Guests

I try to greet guests soon after arrival. If I am not there you will find the cottage open and ready to receive you and I encourage you to settle yourselves in. I live across the road so am readily available most of the time. I offer Massage Therapy and Infared Sauna and this can be arranged beforehand or often spontaneously.

The Neighbourhood

There are not many neighbors here but the ones that are are gracious and interested in my guests. Energetically this is a very special place.

Getting Around

One must have their own source of transport and all things shopping, except a small convenience store (with liquor licence), are a distance to travel. Sherbrooke is about a 25 min. drive and has a grocery store and Antigonish is about 45 min. and has a greater selection of everything including great restaurants and activities to partake in. It is best to come to cottage with the food and drinks you will need during your stay at Loonsong.

Other Things to Note

Sherbrooke is a historical village and has a wonderful area to visit where the shops replicate days gone by. A great place to take kids and the summer offers a regular concert series in the village. The Atlantic Ocean is not far away and is a beautiful drive along the shore to Tor Bay, another Provincial Park that offers beautiful walking.

House Rules

Loonsong Cottage is meant to be a place to retreat, to relax, to recharge. I only ask that guests follow a few simple rules during their stay.

  • To respect the space.
  • No open candles burning but ok if enclosed in a glass jar.
  • No smoking indoors and if you have pets I would appreciate having a conversation around this before you come.
