Increase Immunity: Self Care for the Lymphatic System

Winter can leave us with the residue of stale and with a Lymphatic System that is sluggish from inactivity and it’s partners; overeating and toxicity. This time of year, as our Life Force is awakened with the sights, sounds and smells of early summer we are inspired to feel better, to do more for ourselves so that we sense vitality again and one of the best ways to do this is to remind and to kick-start the Lymphatic System to flow. Having the conscious awareness of this large part of our living organism, its design, function, purpose and how to assist it, is empowering to us as individuals.

Many of the symptoms of a sluggish or compromised Lymph System are signs we generally associate with ‘aging’ and by choosing this story we limit ourselves to what else is possible, in this case, increased energy and vitality, less body pain, decreased anxiety, deeper sleep and much more.

This is a one day workshop with Kathi Ryan RMT in which we will learn about the role the Lymphatic System plays in our health and vitality and the many simple ways we can directly effect this important bodily system. As you gather the information, tools and techniques from this day you will gain confidence in being able to have greater influence and control over your personal well-being and that of your family. We will cover nutrition, exercise, breath, self-massage and energy techniques and much more. This is a day which leaves you empowered with a full toolbox to sustain and increase your level of well-being.

This workshop takes place in Country Harbour at Loonsong Cottage Retreat and includes a healthy lunch and snacks, recipes included. The day will be diverse and include simple movement to stimulate lymph flow through the body. A beautiful early summer day in Country Harbour. Plan to enjoy.

Explorations of Inner Space

In these times of turbulence, uncertainty and anxiety it can be helpful to explore one’s “inner space” where there is a source of balance, strength, and wisdom. This experiential workshop guides participants to that inner calm through centering exercises, relaxation, guided imagery, free writing/drawing, and discussion. 

Susan Walsh is a counselling therapist with a background in creative arts and Psychosynthesis, a therapeutic approach that is based on the premise that every person has the potential to access an inner wisdom and source of healing.

Grounded Earth Mother: A Retreat

As women, as mothers and as caregivers we offer ourselves up to others and it is as natural as breath. As women and mothers we are connected to the great Mother at a deeply profound level and can sense her discomfort as we would sense it in our loved ones.

Mothers Day is a day for all Mothers to celebrate and to honour their heroic contribution to the family, the personal and the global. Our relentless ability to care for others extends beyond our own front doors to embrace all beings everywhere and, being our nature, we may not fully grasp the scope of our giving. It is who we are and this retreat is about making it our turn. We will honor the Great Mother by connecting to the elements in nature. We will play and accept the gifts of Earth’s energies into our bodies through our feet while ‘Earthing’ and moving through the fresh dewy grass of spring and the sand on the beach. We will immerse as much of our bodies to the river as we each desire and explore movement while setting intention to release energy what we are holding and no longer need.

May is the month of new beginnings for the earth and in simple ceremony we will offer our gratitude for her support in our lives. This may include creating a natural mandala if weather permits or a different creative pursuit if weather suggests.

In this Mothers Day retreat we turn the focus away from others and shine that same light of love back onto ourselves through the simple practice of celebrating ourselves and each other in small yet meaningful ways. This requires a surrender from you, an ability to hand over the reins of care to another so that you can float gently in this place of being nurtured. Though not always recognized as a need, it most definitely is. Give yourself the gift of time and leave this weekend revitalized with a full cup from which to give again.

This retreat includes a 60 minute massage by one of your hosts, Candice Connor RMT or Kathi Ryan RMT, a movement experience,  creativity, embracing nature as the day allows, rest and time to BE, delicious food and shared accommodation.

Whimsical Word Play

This is a day to play with words and to speak to what is meaningful to you. When we express what shows up for us in the moment it can often surprise us. Several times I have approached this poetry play with a specific intention and had something completely unrelated unfold before me. I consider this part of the magic in opening yourself up to inspired art forms.

The day will begin with intentional movement in order to feel into our body/mind and  give birth to the voice that resides within. A collection of words and phrases will be available to choose from and I invite you to bring your own magazines, maybe even pre-cut whatever speaks to you, words or images.

The purpose of this day is to relax and share in the company of others while being creative. Music, and floor space to move on when inspired, will enhance this day with the Joy of being and moving in our bodies. Plan on a potluck salad bar where I provide the greens and each of you bring a healthy condiment to add. Snacks, coffee and tea are provided.
