Yoga and Nature Mandala Workshop

Spend a September day in retreat with Bethany Theuerkauf  at Loonsong in Country Harbour with the intention of connecting to the rhythms of the natural world and how this transition time of the seasons coincides with the needs and desires of the home where we live, that of our bodies. By honoring the Sacred in Nature while simultaneously connecting to the deeper parts of Self we come away from this with a sense of clarity on that which is truly important and meaningful to our lives. Stepping away, even for a day, can gently alter our gaze at the world.

This will be a day of quiet reflection, gentle movement, creating something of beauty set with personal intention and the deliciousness of sharing lovingly prepared food together. Days at Loonsong with Bethany are always like a balm to the soul.

Art Gone Wild

Peace on the Water

Art, Movement, Magic.   Life Unfolding.   Loonsong.

For this first offering I will be providing cotton batik fabric and a variety of pallets to create your art piece on. From small and several to large and single you will go home with something of beauty from your inner dwelling place of creativity.

This day includes movement in its offering, both free lance and structured. This helps to keep the creative juices of the artist in us flowing and vitally engaged in the body. Music will play to entice and invite any and all spontaneous movement. Other activities to engage in are yoga, floorplay, walking, swimming when warm, sauna, massage, hammock hanging, conversation and just being in nature in a beautiful place. Allow your heart to guide you in the simplicity of your day unfolding.

We will share a potluck picnic so please bring easy food.  I will provide coffee, tea and snacks throughout the day.

This day is open to all artists and is a great opportunity to spend time at Loonsong and to draw, paint or photograph this beautiful area. Bring an addition to the picnic and join in for any of our play.

Making Space: A Yoga Retreat

A day for personal well-being becomes a radical act of self-love in this period of the seemingly escalated movement of our lives. It is in these times when we need to inquire deeply into the quality of what we are taking in as well as what we are able to return, how well are we serving those we love? Even small acts of self care can begin to create change for individuals simply through the creation of more space within. A day or two away for the sole purpose of ‘making space’ for replenishment cannot be overestimated in its impact and benefit to yourself and to those who love you. And a day at Loonsong with Bethany holds a quality and an allure that those who know, know.

On this day of Eclipse, and one of only 2 days each year that we have this opportunity with Bethany, we will gather at Life As Art Studio with the intention of making space within our lives to step in, to seek and bless within ourselves whatever we currently need and to do this within community to share and to sense belonging.

This day includes snacks and a healthy vegetarian lunch from locally sourced and organic food. Interested in staying the night and having a day for self on Sunday? Please inquire. Massage Therapy available on Sunday.

There is limited space for this retreat. Please register at www.loonsongcottageretreat.ca to secure your place.

Sheng Zhen Gong is a system of Qigong that is unique in that it focuses on Opening the Heart and teaching that Love and Qi are original, universal energies that are never separate from one another. The theory is that everything came into being through the power of Love, including Qi. As one’s Heart naturally opens through the regular practice of Sheng Zhen Gong, Love and Qi begin to flow through the practitioner. In time, one begins to experience that, indeed, Sheng Zhen, or unconditional love, resides within oneself, transforming ones consciousness and view of life and the world.

As is eloquently stated by Master Li Jun Feng, “Sheng Zhen Qigong is movement and non-movement combined, internal as well as external, physical as well as spiritual. The heart and the spirit return to simplicity and freshness. You can be in the present to enjoy every moment in life; to taste the fullness of life.”

To embark on the practice of Sheng Zhen Qigong is to embark on a journey of rediscovery, back to one’s true home.”

Kathi Ryan is owner/operator of Loonsong and is available during this retreat for whatever you need to feel safe and comfortable. Kathi prepares delicious healthy food from local and organic suppliers.

Carol Anne was first introduced to Sheng Zhen Gong in 2003 through Dr. Rose Johnston. After attending a weekend with Master Li in Mahone Bay in 2009 she began teaching weekly classes in Antigonish. Her class has been offered through Recreations Programs in both the Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury areas, as well as yoga studios and meditation centres. In 2014 she attended a 10 day teacher training with Master Li and Jing and is now inspired to teach full day workshops a couple of times a year in the Antigonish area.

Grounded Earth Mother: A Retreat

As women, as mothers and as caregivers we offer ourselves up to others and it is as natural as breath. As women and mothers we are connected to the great Mother at a deeply profound level and can sense her discomfort as we would sense it in our loved ones.

Mothers Day is a day for all Mothers to celebrate and to honour their heroic contribution to the family, the personal and the global. Our relentless ability to care for others extends beyond our own front doors to embrace all beings everywhere and, being our nature, we may not fully grasp the scope of our giving. It is who we are and this retreat is about making it our turn. We will honor the Great Mother by connecting to the elements in nature. We will play and accept the gifts of Earth’s energies into our bodies through our feet while ‘Earthing’ and moving through the fresh dewy grass of spring and the sand on the beach. We will immerse as much of our bodies to the river as we each desire and explore movement while setting intention to release energy what we are holding and no longer need.

May is the month of new beginnings for the earth and in simple ceremony we will offer our gratitude for her support in our lives. This may include creating a natural mandala if weather permits or a different creative pursuit if weather suggests.

In this Mothers Day retreat we turn the focus away from others and shine that same light of love back onto ourselves through the simple practice of celebrating ourselves and each other in small yet meaningful ways. This requires a surrender from you, an ability to hand over the reins of care to another so that you can float gently in this place of being nurtured. Though not always recognized as a need, it most definitely is. Give yourself the gift of time and leave this weekend revitalized with a full cup from which to give again.

This retreat includes a 60 minute massage by one of your hosts, Candice Connor RMT or Kathi Ryan RMT, a movement experience,  creativity, embracing nature as the day allows, rest and time to BE, delicious food and shared accommodation.
